Warning: This book is for adults only due to the nature of the plot.

This book is a tough cookie to swallow, not because the book is bad, not at all. The writing is fantastic, the author truly knows what nerves to push in order to make you submerge in the story, but the topic is so dark and actually true, that it took me a while to wrap my head around it.

The book is about Maggie May a perfect girl that lives in the perfect neighborhood, which has the perfect parents and friends. She is bored of her perfect little life and when a new student with less than the perfect attitude appears at her perfect school she is drawn to him.

Clay is a very troubled guy with nothing but the worst of the worst, the exact opposite of Maggie he is drawn to her cause she represents all the good he has never had.

When I finished this book, I read lots of reviews to see what people thought of it, I´m weird like that =D; and I noticed that people either really liked the book or they hated it, there´s no middle ground with it.

People complain that the decisions Maggie made where too juvenile and that if she had talked to her parents or friends, lots of stuff could have been prevented. Really???

This girl is 17, hormone ridden and lets be truthful here, when we were 17 and your parents told you not to do stuff, more than likely you would do it and if you had a boy/girlfriend but your friends didn´t like him/her you ditched your friends cause you where in love and they don’t understand what you feel; no one does.

Because when you are seventeen you feel in the top of the world, nothing can harm you and you are freaking superwoman.

That´s what this book is about, decision made by teens that think (like all teens do) that they hold all the truths to the world.

It´s a really good book if you ask me, not what I´m used to read but really good none the less.
It was really hard to read through, cause I felt sorry for Mags and Clay; he ´s not a bad person he is a sick boy in dire need of love and medical help and She was a girl “in love” with a guy that had to many issues to be having a relationship.

Girls should know by now that if your boyfriend is violent: jealous and/or dominant behavior and verbal abuses you, it doesn´t mean he loves you more, it means that you are in trouble and you should get the fuck away as fast as you can and talk to you parents about it.

That is not a healthy relationship.

All in all I really liked it, because it shows some hard truths that we should all open our eyes to.

1.- Parents need to take care of your children: there´s no amount of toys or nannies that can replace your parents love and for Pete´s sake your fucking job or social status is not more important than your children.

2.- turning yourself into an ostrich is not going to solve any problems, they´re going to be there once you take your head out of the sand only worse times 100.

3.- Mental Illness is nothing to play with and people that has them need help. They are not evil they are sick and they need specialized care.

4.- No matter how much you think you know your children, they will have secrets from you cause there´s no teen that’s 100% comfortable sharing everything with her/his parents specially sexual topics.

5.- If you push you points of view to a teen too hard, you are going to push him/her away, so instead of having the opportunity of helping when they have a problem must likely you´ll be the last to know.

6.- Good friends are something to be cherished, always try to be friends with your son/daughter best friends; you never know what you can learn from them or need their help.

7.- No matter what stupid decision your son/daughter took, you are all they have and even though they tell you they wish you to back off, the secretly need you and want you to care and be there first row and center to pick them up when they fall down.

I've been writing since I was a little kid. I've always gotten lost in the stories going on in my head. I've just finally started doing something more than thinking about them.

I'm the author of Irresistible Fear, the first in a paranormal romance trilogy about a girl and her demon boyfriend. I have also recently published my first contemporary romance book Find You in the Dark. A dark story about the love between a girl and boy with bi-polar disorder. I have an upcoming contemporary romance called Bad Rep, to be released before the end of the year.

I spent ten years as a counselor for at risk teens and children. First working at a Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault program and then later a program for children with severe emotional and mental health issues. My former clients and their stories continue to influence every aspect of my writing.

I recently moved to England and am trying to get used to driving on the other side of the road, eating fish and chips and all things British :-)
